Mental health treatment involves multiple therapeutic activities throughout the day. Here is what to expect:

Evaluation and Assessment
Upon admission, you will participate in a thorough intake process that allows the clinical team to properly diagnose your mental health issue. Your health history, psychiatric history, and diagnostic assessments provide the information needed to create a customized treatment plan.
Treatment elements
The mental health disorder is treated using a combination of therapies, medication, and holistic methods:
- Psychotherapy. Individual psychotherapy involves one-on-one talk sessions with a licensed therapist. The type of therapy utilized is determined by the diagnosis. Some of the most commonly used therapies include cognitive behavioral therapy, interpersonal therapy, psychodynamic therapy, trauma-focused therapy, and dialectical behavior therapy.
- Group therapy. During small group sessions a therapist provides topics and guides discussions. These group sessions facilitate peer support and bonding.
- Many times, medication is included in the treatment plan. Common medications for treatment of mental health disorders include antidepressants, anti-anxiety medication, and mood stabilizers.
